Ganesh Sthapan
Lord Ganesh, the God of wisdom, is the herald of auspicious beginnings. This is a ceremony where Lord Ganesh’s blessings are invoked before the preparation for the wedding begins. The belief is that starting with this ceremony removes all obstacles and the remainder of the wedding ceremonies will run smoothly.
Pithi
Pithi is a ceremony in which a paste of turmeric, sandalwood, saffron, and rose water will be applied to the bride and groom’s faces, hands, and legs.
This paste is believed to cleanse and purify the soon to be married couple.
Graha Shanti
Graha Shanti is a prayer to the nine planets of our solar system. Ancient Indian studies indicated that various celestial bodies have an influence on the destiny of every individual. The effect of the nine planets is meant to be the most profound. During this puja the Gods associated with these planets are asked to infuse courage, peace of mind, and inner strength to the bride and groom to help endure life's sufferings.

A Hindu marriage ceremony is a very sacred and auspicious occasion. It marks the start of a new friendship and family. The wedding ceremony will be conducted according to traditional Hindu custom, which dates back many hundreds of years. Many of the rituals are very much alive today and their meanings bring out the essence of Hindu philosophy. Marriage is one of the most important sacraments in Hinduism in the path towards moksha, the ultimate aim of a Hindu - to be one with the soul of the creator.
